Culture
Curious
We are driven by the itch to understand how things work — and
the suspicion that they could work differently.  We explore beyond the boundaries
of our expertise, and welcome perspectives that unsettle our own.
Entrepreneurial
We value initiative over hierarchy, debate over comfortable
agreement, and progress over perfection. Entrepreneurship is about doing, not waiting for certainty.
No nonsense
We prefer substance over theatre, evidence over opinion, and straight talk over marketing narratives. We focus our energy on what actually moves the needle. Less noise, more signal.
Rooted in a wider energy ecosystem
Noak is a spin-off of imec and UHasselt. That foundation provides access to top-level R&D infrastructure, process technology and IP, as well as a global network of industrial partners.

Noak operates on the EnergyVille campus in Genk, within a wider R&D ecosystem working across solar, storage, future grids and energy systems.
Built on imec’s and UHasselt’s world-leading research
imec is recognised as a technology trailblazer, with deep expertise across semiconductors, materials science and advanced process technology. Noak builds directly on the world-leading PV research of IUMAT, a collaboration between imec and the Institute for Materials Research at UHasselt. This gives Noak access to advanced R&D infrastructure on the EnergyVille campus, IP, technology transfer expertise and joint development programmes.

That relationship creates a strong bridge between research and industry, helping new PV technologies move from laboratory development to validation, scale-up and commercial deployment.
